Recreational Opportunities Around Haner Park.

Recreation

  • Fishing

The Deschutes River runs through Haner Park, and is a great place to fish. There are many spots on the river outside Haner Park that provide excellent access to the river for fishing. Also, we are surrounded by many lakes that are fantastic for fishing, some even year round! Make sure to check the ODFW website for all the current regulations before you start fishing.

  • Shooting

Shooting is not allowed in Haner Park, but there are some areas around Haner Park that can provide great, safe areas to shoot. We have provided a map so you can find a good place to shoot!

  • ATV Riding

ATV use is not allowed in Haner Park, with the exception of traveling out to forest service roads. Please consult the current forest service map to see where ATV use is allowed.

Recreation

  • Floating

Floating the Deschutes River by kayak, paddle board, or other type of raft is a great way to spend the day. Be aware some floating crafts require permits, and there have been float patrols in our stretch of the river looking for float boat permits. Permits can be obtained from the ODFW. See the link below.

  • Hiking

There are so many great places to hike within a 20 mile radius from Haner Park. The Forest Service has now set up a reservation system on many of the most popular trails, and advanced reservations are required to hike these popular trails.
